For those of you out there that are familiar with the Star Wars saga, this line might be familiar to you. It was something that Yoda said to Luke Skywalker while training him to use the force and for me, it was the most important thing said in all of the movies.
Want to know why?
Well, it is a great piece of wisdom when it comes to business. You will find that those who “do” succeed, and those who “do not” don’t (that should be obvious).
But what really gets me is that when you “try” to do something, you rarely succeed anyway. Sure, you might have some initial success, but for the most part, you will end up failing. For those of you who have been puttering around with your business, you will know exactly what I mean – chances are that you are on the verge of quitting because things aren’t working out the way you expected.
So make sure that if you are a business owner, you “do” what needs to be done to make the business work – then you will enjoy success. Sure, you might not get to watch as much television or spend so many nights out from home, but the rewards will be worth your commitment – you will get to the point where you have the freedom that many others just only dream of.
So remember Yoda’s wisdom and “do” what needs to be done – you at least owe yourself (and your family) that.
